Communicating with just about anyone about anything is my superpower. And I genuinely love doing it.
Who I Am Today
I’m a dad. My first kid was born in 1999 right before Y2K. My second was born 5 years later without the fear of living life in a fallout shelter.
I’m a husband. My wife and I married in 1991. She hasn’t regretted it enough to move out. Yet.
I’m a former radio personality. The first song I played on the radio was Eye Of The Tiger by Survivor. I don’t remember the second one.
I’m a nerd. I wrote barely usable COBOL in high school. I built my first computer in 1994. I destroyed its motherboard by constantly opening the case and fiddling with it.
I’m a Cloud Platform Engineer. I manage cloud infrastructure for a large financial services company.
I’m a workplace optimist. I lead employee-focused initiatives and try to make our company a place where people actually want to show up on Mondays.
I’m a music lover. It kept me sane through all of life so far and grounds me when life gets chaotic. I own a lot of vinyl records and CD’s. My wife would say that “a lot” is an understatement.
I’m a constant learner. I read daily, take online courses about things I'll never use professionally, and fall down research rabbit holes at 11pm. I genuinely believe the moment you stop learning is the moment you start shrinking.
The story of how I got here…from radio broadcaster to cloud engineer…has some unexpected turns along the way but is an interesting story. And it’s coming soon.
